November 13th 2012 | What is the Revenue Management contribution to strategy and future leadership in hospitality?
As Revenue Management becomes an ever growing force to be considered in the hospitality industry, a panel of top experts will be putting Revenue Management’s contribution to the profession under the microscope at HOSPACE 2012.
Under the astute chairmanship of Professor Peter Jones MBE – Director Wentworth Jones – a leading panel of hospitality Revenue Management, practitioners and authorities on the subject will scrutinise the topic: ‘What is the Revenue Management contribution to strategy and future leadership in hospitality?’
The panellists will include: Chris Cooper, Group Director of Revenue Management, Rocco Forte Hotels; Pamela Carvell, Owner of Pampas Marketing and Life President, Hotel Marketing Association; Mark White, General Manager, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels at Chelsea Football Club; and Jim Cockell, Group IT Solutions Director, National Express. Facilitators for the discussion will be HOSPA Revenue Management Community (HRMC) Chair Warren Mandelbaum; and HRMC Deputy Chair Cheryl Hawksworth.
Commenting on the HOSPACE 2012 Revenue Management discussion, Warren Mandelbaum said: “Revenue Management is a well established force to be considered – its practices tightly interwoven within the fabric of any commercially-led organisation. This multi-faceted function has evolved from a purely tactical one which focuses on yield, to one encompassing numerous areas and impacting Marketing, Sales, Distribution, Technology and Social Media to name a few. Should Revenue Management strategy be out of place with respect to the market, the entire organisation will be negatively impacted. With a greater responsibility placed on Revenue Management, we have seen a heightened level of strategic influence that affects key business decisions.”
Mandelbaum then outlined some of the key questions to be addressed on 22 November by the HOSPACE 2012 Revenue Management panellists, including ‘Is the Revenue Management contribution to future strategy vital to its overall success?’ and ‘What potential do Revenue Managers have to be leaders and what qualities will they need to enhance to do so?’
